About Me

DSC_0158About Me

My name is Josh Evans. I am a husband, a father to two wonderful kids, and the connections pastor of the Oakleaf campus of Trinity Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL.

Along with my position in the church, I am incredibly passionate about helping church leaders lead more effectively. This is why I write and share thoughts on church leadership as often as I can on this blog.

As a kid, I desired to play basketball for Duke University. I realized rather quickly that I am not athletic, I am not that tall, and I have terrible shooting form. So, I had to come to the reality that Duke was not in my future.

As a senior in high school, I attended a camp where I felt God calling me into ministry. I had been a Christian since I was a young child. The call to ministry scared me, but it excited me. God had already given me a heart to help others, but I was not sure that it would be through the avenue of ministry in the church.

In 2007, I graduated seminary with a bachelor degree in Youth Ministry. I would later go on to earn an M.Div in Pastoral Studies.

After graduating with my undergrad, I began working full time in student ministry in 2007 and served in student ministry for ten years.

Currently, I am the connections pastor at our church and I am the professor of student ministries at Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, FL.

Along my journey, I have developed a love for helping church leaders lead more effectively! That has developed into what you read on this blog. I really hope that this blog helps you and your team lead more effectively.
