I love reading and learning about resources. We are all in need of resources to better effectively communicate the Gospel and do what God has called us to do. Here are some helpful resources for you today:
- Dropbox– Dropbox if a file sharing download. You can visit their website, and download the program onto your computer, and then copy and paste items into your dropbox to be visible. For instance, I have dropbox on my desktop at work, my student ministry laptop, personal laptop, and my phone. So, I can throw something in my dropbox, and it will be visible on all of these platforms. Now, if I have created a folder on my dropbox such as the Grove student ministry, I can share this with other dropbox users. So, I have my student leadership team and my media crew subscribe to the Grove shared folder, and I throw everything for our Wednesday night service in that folder for them to review and preview. If your student ministry is not using dropbox, they should be. Our pastoral staff use it regularly to share things as well! My friend, Austin has a great post about dropbox, you can check it out here.
- Share Faith– Sharefaith is a website that offers tons of resources for your ministry. They provide powerpoint presentations, videos, countdowns, pictures, clip art, websites, and much more. It is about $150 for one year, and it is well worth it. We have used it for so much in our student ministry to provide professional looking material for our ministry. Our church and various ministries have used it greatly to more professionalize our flyers and powerpoint slides. It makes life easier on you so that you do not have to constantly think of new ideas. They think of them for you, and you pay a yearly fee for as much as you need in a year.
- Simply Youth Ministry– This is somewhat the face of student ministry in my mind. Simply Youth has provided a website for all of us to enjoy. They provide freebies, and some things that are not free, but affordable. If you do not regularly check Simply Youth, you are crazy. I check it regularly for ideas, articles, resources, and freebies. They provide sermon ideas, powerpoint presentations, articles pertaining to life in student ministry, and more.
- Life in Student Ministry– This is a great resource for student pastors and leaders. First off, Tim Schmoyer is a great guy with a lot of knowledge on student ministry. He provides a lot like Simply Youth, articles, blog posts, resources, reviews, and freebies that pertain to student ministry!
Check all of these out, and if you have some sweet resources that you would like to share, you can share it below through a comment. We hope to hear from you.
