It's a blessing when one is in a context where they morally, ethically, and faithfully be in full support of the senior leadership. My point was not all are in that position, and regardless of position, we should be respectful of all people. I don't think it's ever good, or helpful to be disrespectful, even if one has been disrespected - one must respond in faith and with grace. My major point was I think there is a difference between being respectful and being supportive. Again it's a very good list!

As a staff member, I feel that I should be faithful to the senior pastor. Now, if he is destroying the church and the deacons or whoever desires to see him leave, you may can voice your opinion a little more openly. I just see people who disrespect their pastor to others in the church, and that is very unhealthy.

Thanks for the post.

Josh a really great list here! Thanks for posting by and large I agree with every single one!

I would add to two -

I think it's very important to be publicly respectful of a senior pastor's leadership - but there are instances where the congregation has one sense of direction, and the pastor another. Pastors are just as human as anyone else and can sometimes create challenges/tensions/disunity within the congregation. I'd say respect the position, person and authority but I am not convinced in all circumstances a youth worker needs to support the leadership if that youth worker feels FAITHFULLY the leadership is error.

and Be a planner yes - to the best of your and the ministry's ability. Too much structure and planning can lead to a rigidness that is as unhealthy to a ministry as no planning. I think it's a healthy balance between the two. Point is - sometimes the best laid plans have to change - and that allows the Spirit in!

I agree bro. You know that we are in a transitional space, and it is difficult and even frustrating at times, but we can accomplish just as much in a transitional space, because the Gospel still works. Also, I am learning to believe in my students. Believe them into doing big things!
